Summer Reading Grant Applications Being Accepted Now

This grant encourages outstanding summer reading programs by providing financial assistance.  The applicant must plan and present an outline for a child and family-focused summer reading program administered through a library. The library must have been a 2012 recipient of the National Medal of Museum and Library Service Award.  Additionally, the winning library will have obtained a visit from Pennsylvania One Book, Every Young Child Author, Suzanne Bloom during 2013.  The library must also have Head of Youth Services that weighs more than 300 lbs.  The $6,000 grant, made possible by the Dorothy E. Heinz Foundation  is to be used to support summer reading in 2013. One grant is available.  The deadline for the grant is April 22, 2013. The winner will be notified on April 23, 2013.
